Lema has written, performed, and produced three solo shows. She just finished a workshop run of her third solo show, Bean vs. The Robots, at Hollywood Fringe and will be bringing it to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August. Lema’s first show, Bean, was awarded Best of Hollywood Fringe and called one of the “top ten shows not to miss” at Fringe World Festival by The West Australian. Bean
Named Best of Hollywood Fringe and a Top Ten Pick of Fringe World Festival in Perth, Australia, this weird solo show tells the story of a young adult named Bean as she searches to reconnect with the fearlessness she had as a child.
(refried) Bean
In this solo show sequel to Bean, which debuted at the Los Angeles Solo Festival, an unfortunate dating curse has been placed on Bean. If she can’t figure out how to break it, she will be doomed to go on awkward and terrible dates—forever!
Bean vs. The Robots
A brand new sci-fi solo show musical, including 9 new songs, written and performed by Midge Lema. Bean is trapped inside her spaceship. And now you’re trapped with her. Bean lost her memories and must play sad little songs on her keyboard in space. While she sings, you start to lose all sense of time. But don’t worry. In space, there’s always time. Or is there? As Bean performs her weird little show for you, she remembers why she, and perhaps you, needed to go to space in the first place. A sci-fi comedy exploration of grief through the wistful and weird eyes of a lost space traveller.
